300 Attend Notary Public Seminar Hosted By Clerk

Over 300 people filled The University of Virginia's College Science Lecture Hall to hear Virginia Secretary of the Commonwealth Kate Henley and Wise County Clerk of Court Jack Kennedy discuss the recent changes in the Virginia notary law using Power Point and audio.

Secretary Hanley agreed to come to Wise at the behest of Kennedy to inform local notaries of the recent changes made by the Virginia General Assembly.

The seminar will be televised on Wise County Government Channel 19 this month to help provide more information on the changes that may impact various legal instruments such as deeds, contracts, and wills. Readers may contact Clerk of Court Jack Kennedy to order an instructional DVD of the seminar.

Local practicing attorneys will receive 1 hour of Continuing Legal Education Credit for attendance at the notary public seminar held at UVA-Wise.
